A culmination of all my previous illuminated plexiglass pieces.
Illuminated by two hidden AA battery pack, l.e.d. light strings.
Acrylic and enamel painted on five surfaces. (plexiglass and composite wood.)
The buildings, and contents, I made from thin plastic sheets, paper, junk mail cardstock, and plastic packaging pieces.
Born and raised in Indio, California, art and music have been an integral part of Jon's life since early childhood. He's primarily recognized for his surrealist paintings, but also experiments with pen and ink, mosaics, re-purposed materials, wood, and reverse painted plexiglass with L.E.D.s and fiber optics, among others. Much of his work evokes visual observation and commentary, or hidden meaning. His first professional endeavor was a political cartoon for an underground newspaper at the age of twelve.
