Acrylic and oil enamel, painted on three surfaces of composite board and plexiglass, in a metal frame. Indirectly illuminated from overhead (and two by the lantern fish), by battery powered l.e.d. lights
Born and raised in Indio, California, art and music have been an integral part of Jon's life since early childhood. He's primarily recognized for his surrealist paintings, but also experiments with pen and ink, mosaics, re-purposed materials, wood, and reverse painted plexiglass with L.E.D.s and fiber optics, among others. Much of his work evokes visual observation and commentary, or hidden meaning. His first professional endeavor was a political cartoon for an underground newspaper at the age of twelve.
