My first floral, still life.
I was experimenting with an abstract background on a canvas. Layers of acrylic and translucent spray paint, with no focused subject in mind. I passed these flowers as I returned to the studio with the drying canvas. One of the many booming plants I have around the house, that I can't remember the name of.
A slice of controlled nature, illuminated for contrast and drama.

Born and raised in Indio, California, art and music have been an integral part of Jon's life since early childhood. He's primarily recognized for his surrealist paintings, but also experiments with pen and ink, mosaics, re-purposed materials, wood, and reverse painted plexiglass with L.E.D.s and fiber optics, among others. Much of his work evokes visual observation and commentary, or hidden meaning. His first professional endeavor was a political cartoon for an underground newspaper at the age of twelve.
